One of the frequent questions we get when we tell people how we got started is "how did you get into that field?"

For those who have not read the" About" page. Julius Frank Juneman started the company in 1920 in a sail loft on the strand in Galveston, Tx. We made sails and hatch covers for ships coming into the port of Galveston. from there we expanded into oilfield work, among other things.
Now back to the question originally asked. "How did we end up in that field?" Shorty after Julius F. and his wife and family had moved to Houston, Tx, he went to went to work for J. F. Andreason (one of Julius' brother in laws) at his business; eventually Julius became a partner in the business. Sometime in 1919 the J. F. Andreason, Son & J. F. Juneman business failed and was auctioned. Julius took out his savings and bought the company at the auction, then organized City Awning & Tarpualin Co. 99 years later, we are still here.
